I enjoy painting nature. My work could be described as a kind of tonalism; emphasizing emotion, abstraction, and the effects of atmosphere in the landscape.

Avery Standard is an oil painter living and working in Montgomery County, Texas.

A self taught artist, he has be drawing since childhood. In 2021, he began painting which has become his primary medium. Since then, his focus has been American landscapes and, more recently, horses. Though stylistically modern, Avery often employs classical, indirect painting techniques which produces highly evocative artwork.
